Certifies judgement in deploying and owning systems inside customer environments.
A forward-deployed engineer is measured on what survives contact with a customer. This certification assesses the field judgement that decides whether a deployment works, across twelve areas of the job: customer discovery and workflow mapping, scoping and solution design, data integration and quality, SQL and analytical reasoning, APIs and application engineering, security and privacy, architecture and scaling, reliability and incident response, AI systems and evaluation, delivery and rollout, adoption and measurable outcomes, and governance and communication.
Questions are original scenarios grounded in public role expectations and primary technical sources, and every paper is generated from the published blueprint below rather than drawn at random. The free practice exam draws from its own practice bank; the certification exam draws only from a separate secure bank that practice never touches.
Software, data, cloud, platform, reliability and AI engineers moving into embedded or customer-facing technical work, and practising forward-deployed engineers who want a defensible statement of the full craft rather than isolated advice.
This certification is a ladder. Each level is a separate exam with its own blueprint, its own price and its own credential, and each publishes the boundary between itself and the levels either side. Sit whichever one describes the work you do — a level is defined by capability, not by seniority.
Every exam is built to these weights. A domain at 15% contributes 15% of the questions, rounded to whole questions.
